Messaging and PR strategy for the national charity improving the life chances of children in care and young care leavers

Become is campaigning to eradicate the ‘care cliff’ – where upon turning 18, many young care leavers are forced to leave their placement and start to live independently before they feel ready or the right support is in place. 

For many care leavers this can be incredibly abrupt and disruptive, falling at a time in their life when they need stability the most (their last years at school, starting university or a job). 

We supported the initial campaign development by working with the in-house team to devise compelling messaging and content, as well as advising on a phased media relations approach to get policymakers to sit up and listen.
