The increase in the number of people aged 65 over the next 20 years in the UK presents both challenges and opportunities for business. As part of the country’s industrial strategy, BEIS is keen to ensure UK business is ready to take advantage of this major shift.

As part of this, we developed a campaign to explore how tech can better support our ageing society. All too often, tech is developed without any input from older people themselves, we think it’s time that changed. So, at the heart of our campaign was an event to bring together tech developers with older people themselves.

Supported by the Campaign to End Loneliness, the outcomes from the event have fed into the government’s plan to help UK business take advantage of the opportunities presented by the grey pound.
