Jack & Grace is a comms agency with a difference - we wholeheartedly believe that doing good is good for business. We only work with clients that value people, planet and profit equally and we only employ brilliant people that share our ethos and passion.

We offer all roles remotely and flexibly, by that we mean part-time, full-time, job-share, compressed hours – whatever works really.

We celebrate diversity – in our people and our thinking – and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone in our team. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, beliefs, race and gender, and those with ‘squiggly’ careers.

We invest in each member of our team through a mixture of formal training, coaching, mentoring and on-the-job support, and have a transparent pay policy to actively stamp out unfairness and foster a more open organisation.

We’re small but mighty, and we’ve got big plans. If that sounds that something you want to be part of, then join us…

As a senior account executive, you’ll be a key driving force behind our accounts to make sure plans are delivered on time, to the highest standard, and that clients are happy.

Working across a range of comms channels - from PR and social, to websites, newsletters and branding - you’ll be the main day-to-day contact with some of our lovely clients. Underpinning everything will be your excellent writing skills and keen nose for a story.

Our clients do brilliant work and it’s our job to shout about it. You’ll immerse yourself in their worlds to know their business like it were your own and, when it comes to spotting opportunities, you’ll be one step ahead, so clients look to us for new ideas and different ways to boost their profile.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Account management: planning, delivering, analysing, communicating and reporting on your key accounts

  • Content creation – whatever the channel, writing topnotch copy is the backbone of good comms. You’ll have a flair for words and an eye for detail, crafting content to suit different messages, tones and industries

  • News-scanning: picking out the top stories of the day and selecting what’s interesting and relevant for clients to comment on

  • PR: liaising with journalists to build lasting relationships. Writing and issuing press releases, responding to incoming enquiries quickly, spotting opportunities to highjack and monitoring for coverage

  • Social: planning and creating organic and paid content, testing different styles and formats to increase engagement and staying on top of new algorithms and ways of working

  • Websites: optimising the user experience. Making sure content supports key messages and is displayed well visually and in written form for SEO pick-up. You’ll also keep one eye on analytics data to drive new ideas for improving performance

  • Branding: using your creative flair, you’ll create graphics, gifs, videos and other assets to convey messages visually for use across all channels

We’re looking for someone with a year or two’s experience under their belt, either in an agency or fast-paced in-house environment. Basically, we need someone to roll up their sleeves and get cracking straight away.

We’ll be looking to you to deliver set plans but we also want to see you coming up with your own ideas and ways of working, running those past the senior team and then getting on with them.

Your attention to detail will be second-to-none and you’ll be able to multi-task as if it were an Olympic sport. You’ll need to be a savvy communicator and comfortable working proactively with the wider Jack & Grace team.

Keen to learn and keen to do a good job, you’ll share our values and be: Courageous, Curious, Committed and Caring.

  • Salary band: £23,000 - £27,000 (pro rata and depending on experience)

  • Holiday: 36 days paid leave (including UK bank holidays which you can choose to take whenever suits you – you don’t have to take them on the public holiday days)

  • A formal personal development plan and process with regular check-ins with a member of the senior team

  • An annual personal learning & development budget of £600, comprising formal training, coaching, mentoring and on-the-job support, plus access to regular internal training from the rest of the J&G team or external experts

  • Flexible working as standard – we’ll set out the number of hours you’ll work each week in your contract but there are no fixed times of the day in which you must fulfil your core working hours (although you are expected to make yourself available to attend meetings as and when required by our clients and the business. These meetings will usually take place on a weekday between 9am and 5pm.)

  • Time off in lieu for additional hours worked

  • A contribution of £480 towards the cost of mobile phone and internet

  • Work from home as standard, but regular co-working days to get the team together for some creative time

  • Annual bonus scheme (up to 5% of your salary depending on the performance of the company)

  • Our culture encourages boundary setting to balance work and life, promotes a growth mindset, and advocates for bringing your whole personality to work

  • We expect you’ll take time during the day for exercise, life admin, care for relatives, or anything else you need to do to keep plates spinning or regenerate yourself.

We’re committed to running a considerate, kind and flexible organisation. Comms agencies don’t always have the best reputations for treating people and planet fairly. In founding Jack & Grace, we wanted to challenge some of the long-held ‘norms’ that no longer feel right. We call this ‘un-normaling’.

We feel so strongly about this that we’d like shortlisted candidates to interview any of the Jack & Grace team, to make sure you have the opportunity to really get to know us before you join.
